Okay, I’m back after my week off! I’ll do my best to be around for the next three weeks, but I have a novel to finish so I might be a bit distracted and not as verbose as usual. You have been warned
Writing:
I’ve been getting really stuck in to The Hot Floor – I’m at 20k and going strong. Finally, the boys are getting it on!

Daisy at the park - at last, a phone that takes pictures!
Real Life:
I’ve spent the last week of half term having fun with Daisy, and getting to catch up with my sister and two nieces. School holidays are great for making me catch up with friends too
I also finally got myself a smart phone, which I’m still learning to use. I’m hoping I’ll be a bit more active on Twitter and Facebook once I’m more familiar with it all.
This week:
The lovely Zahra Owens will be here guest blogging on Wednesday. There’s still a chance to get in a prompt for her to write a flashfic, so head on over to the prompt post to add yours!
It’s also my birthday on Thursday! As a treat for you all, I wanted to share a scene from either my next release (Handle with Care) or my current WIP (The Hot Floor – an m/m/m romantic comedy). Let me know which you’d prefer in the comments
I aim to write another 15k of The Hot Floor this week. I’ll also get another Storm & Lightning chapter up on Friday (at least that one’s already written!). Phew – busy, busy, busy…

Good to see you back, and to hear you had a well-earned break and got a chance to use your new phone. Daisy looks as if she had fun
Can’t wait for the next installment of Storm and Lightning! And if you want to share a bit of your Hot Floor I’m more than willing to have a read.
Ok…back to revision…
Good to see you all again! And good luck with the revision
One vote for Hot Floor, then…
First, I want to tell you to share some from the new one Hot Floor – only b/c I’ve read Handle With care LOL and OMG I so love my Kindle version
DDD
Cute picture of Daisy
She’s so adorable
So glad you got to spend some time with her off school and time with your sister and nieces
YAY for a smartphone, we are planning on that when we move back to the States, until then, I’ll muddle through with my cheapo tracfone LOL.
And if I forget HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! But I’ll try to remember LOL.
Good luck with the writing!!!
Hey hon – glad you’re enjoying HwC!
It’s been a lovely week, but it is nice to get back to work again properly too
Two votes for The Hot Floor now…
Daisy certainly seems to be having fun in that photo.
Good luck with the writing this week.
She does love parks – the slides were a particular favourite.
Thanks! Good luck with your latest, too
Good luck with all the writing
Yay for catching up with family and friends
Um, I don’t read m/m/m so I’ll pick the other one
Thanks – I hit my 3k target today, so it’s going well so far
I figured you’d be voting for HwC – that’s two for THF and one for HwC…
Glad you had a good half term. I managed to get some writing done too. My first two short stories. I don’t mind what I read. I also gobbled through Tailor Made in a day and loved it and downloaded Pole Star which I hope to catch up with this week.
K
Excellent – are these stories you’re going to submit anywhere in particular?
So glad you enjoyed Tailor Made – hope you have fun with Pole Star too!
Just practice really and TBH I don’t know enough about submitting stories or where to submit them. I have put them on my LJ page to get a few opinions. I am 30,000 words into a novel so we’ll see where that goes.
K
Happy early birthday!
As someone who doesn’t read excerpts…
Thanks Chris
No vote from you, then – I rarely read them myself, as there ain’t enough hours in the day!
I’m not picky, but m/m/m sounds HOT to me. Give us a spin on the floor!
I just wish my moody teenager could smile like Daisy does in that picture…..gone are the days when a slide could make my Rebekka happy.
Okay, that’s three for THF and only one for HwC. I think I see where things are heading…
Daisy is an exceptionally happy child, it must be said. I see it as a real gift, as her learning disabilities will probably mean she stays that sweet and joyful throughout her life. Still, moody teenagers eventually become adults – you’ll get a smiley Rebekka back one day, I’m sure!
I’m not keen on m/m/m, so I’d go for Handle with Care.
I’ve got two story ideas I’m trying to juggle. Guess I should work to the deadlines but the other one keeps trying to force its way through.
I have a camera on my phone but I rarely remember to use it. LOL.
Happy Birthday, for Thursday.
Okay: HwC=2, THF=3 – it’s not a foregone conclusion! Will have to see if anyone else drops by to comment
Deadlines are tricky things if a different idea is calling to you, but I do think it’s important to listen to your muse. Good luck with getting them finished.
Thanks! I’m looking forward to it
THF for me please! Also, what smartphone did you get? I got a SonyEricsson Xperia Arc S two weeks ago and I love it.
HwC=2, THF=4 – looks like I’m going to have to dust down a scene tomorrow and make sure it’s fit to be read!
I got a Sony Ericsson Xperia Pro, strangely enough! Great phone – I’m starting to get to grips with it and I just love the way it works. Feels like good quality too – that’s important to me. I like my technology to have a bit of weight to it
