Forced to apply for a job he doesn’t want, Cosmo Rawlins has only one aim in mind: fail the interview and get back to making music. But his attempt to shock the sexy, sharp-suited Alasdair Grant has a very different result.
Instead of getting thrown out of the office for flaunting an interest in BDSM, Cosmo finds himself on his knees, apologising to the most dominant man he’s ever met.
Alasdair has more important things on his mind than training a novice sub, especially a rebellious bad boy like Cosmo. But there’s something beneath the youngster’s bratty attitude that fascinates him.
As Alasdair takes Cosmo in hand—and for a wild ride on his Harley—he becomes obsessed with bending the young rocker to his will, both in and out of bed. But while Cosmo might enjoy the kink, he’s not up for becoming Alasdair’s household slave.
When Alasdair goes one demand too far, Cosmo is gone in a cloud of dust. Forcing Alasdair to admit that earning Cosmo’s loyalty—and love—will involve the toughest challenge he’s ever faced.
Warning: This title contains an overbearing Top with a less than glamorous job, a rebellious brat who refuses to call him sir, and a total lack of high-end BDSM clubs or playrooms. Expect floggings over the kitchen table instead. Written in Jo’s usual exceedingly “English” English.
Screw the Fags, a Screwing the System follow-up short story.

Screwing the System is a sexy, romantic read that immediately captured my attention kept me enthralled with it until I finished the last page. I loved everything about this book. Between the interesting, well-written characters and the intriguing story they told, Screwing the System has a permanent place on my keeper shelf.
This is the first book I’ve read by Josephine Myles and it definitely won’t be my last. I loved every minute of this book, and I’m definitely looking forward to reading more books written by her. Screwing the System is an emotionally driven, sexy and well-written romance that will live with me long after I’ve finished the book. If you are looking for a sexy May/December, BDSM themed romance, this book is definitely one to consider! Highly Recommended!

One of the most enjoyable BDSM lite romances I have ever read… I really really loved how Cosmo and Alasdair were shown to be two people falling in love, stumbling along the way, both of them making mistakes and learning from them… The story was definitely an erotic romance, and when I think about it it did have a lot of sex, but surprisingly I did not feel that it was too much. I already reread it three times and without skipping a single sex scene, which is not something I do with too many books… Highly recommended.

About 6 months ago, I read my first book by Josephine Myles and I was immediately hooked by this quirky, British writer. Her book are always entertaining, always filled with lusty men, always contain some hot as hell M/M sex, and always contain a bit of British humour… I adored the journey between Cosmo and Alasdair. At first they seem completely different but underneath we discover they have quite a bit in common… There are some pretty spectacular moments between them, both sexually and not, all of which I enjoyed immensely… Screwing The System is another superb offering from Josephine Myles featuring two men walking two separate paths yet the wind up on the same line. While there were many messy moments, it’s obvious at the end they are headed towards that happily ever after they both never knew they wanted.
A True Gem Award from Slick Reads at Guilty Pleasures Book Reviews
This is a May/December romance between two men who are strong in different ways but in all the right ways for each other; it’s a story of teaching and of learning that the exchange of trust and the surrender of control is, in the end, the ultimate strength, and that it doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks as long as everything works between the only two who matter.
I loved Cosmo and Alasdair in much the same way I loved Ollie and Ben in Handle With Care, not for the similarities in their romance but in the fact that it was the younger men who came along with the passion for their art, and their cheek, and their take-no-prisoners attitudes, and turned the lives of their older men upside down.

While I don’t think BDSM stories need to “justify” why people enjoy the lifestyle, I do think Myles does a great job giving us a sense of what each man needs emotionally and why each finds this relationship so satisfying… I think Myles does a great job with these characters and I think they carry the story wonderfully. Great story, both sweet and sexy, with really enjoyable characters. I liked this one a lot and would definitely recommend it.

I have become a huge fan of Josephine Myles and I’ve enjoyed each of the books I’ve read so far. Her characters are always unique and quirky. When I was offered this one, I was a little worried about the D/s element but because I just love her writing style I just had to read it… I thought that the BDSM scenes were done well; Alastair was responsible, they talked about everything first, set up a safe word, discussed limits, etc. Ultimately, it was enjoyable watching Alastair be the Dom to Cosmo’s sub because you never knew what you were going to get.

Screwing the System is a delightful and slightly kinky story… It’s a bit of a battle between wills but so much fun to watch it happen. Both men are well written, each with tragedy and hardship in their backgrounds… The writing is top notch and truly inspired in some scenes. There is some BDSM but it’s more dominance with a side of spanking/caning/flogging than any real hard core BDSM. The sexual attraction between the two men concentrates on the shifting power dynamic than anything else… The good writing, interesting characters, and plentiful hot sex make this an enjoyable story to read start to finish.

Myles’ humorous and skillful portrayal of this unique and authentic couple will please a lot of her fans immensely and will warm up new readers for her other excellent work. She shows with Alasdair and Cosmo’s tale how utterly fun and satisfyingly hot falling in love can be, even when it has the potential to turn your life upside down. And she also proves once again that she’s capable of creating an unforgettable couple with an electrifying chemistry.

I was reading near the end, and I realized suddenly that I was just smiling away. When you are so happy for the couple to be getting it right, that you end up smiling while you read, that’s a good thing. Even if BDSM is not your thing, as I said, it’s not super hardcore so accessible to most readers. It’s not secret I love this author’s work, but I’m definitely recommending this one.
Tam Reads, Writes and Rambles
I enjoy this author’s writing, the colorful characters and that bit of unavoidable humor… I actually relaxed with this book, spent my first free Saturday in a while going through scenes and situations together with the two guys and it was pretty much perfect… I recommend this book as I do all the others I’ve read so far by Josephine Myles. The distinctive style is exactly what I like to read and I’m hoping for more in the future.

An awesome read with wonderful characters, and the diversity fans of Jo Myles have come to expect. The kink side of things is very light, some bondage, and awesmazing spanking… Cosmo and Alasdair will bring a smile to your day, and heat things up in your pants. I will read any and everything written by Josephine Myles, because she is just that good.
Darien Moya at Pants Off Reviews
The push and pull of their relationship was a delight to watch, especially as Cosmo is no wilting submissive, but an active partner who makes Alisdair work for the dominance… Overall, I enjoyed this book a great deal. The characters were real and well drawn, showing two opposite men who are drawn through mutual lust and yet work as a couple.

There are a few moments that tear at your heart strings, but they are also complimented by humorous moments. I thoroughly enjoyed Alasdair and Cosmo. Ms. Myles has a good story and wonderful characters in Screwing the System.

Josephine shows her readers why some people enjoy the BDSM lifestyle. She makes me wonder about all the research that must have been involved in having to write the scenes. If you have ever wondered about that lifestyle, this book may just give you some ideas of what you can try – try it, you’ll like it.
