Two plus one equals scorching hot fun.
Dumped by his boyfriend and reduced to living in a grotty bedsit, Josh Carpenter has gotten used to expecting the worst. Now he lives only for his job as a glassblower…and occasional glimpses of his sexy downstairs neighbors, Rai Nakamura and Evan Truman.
Every time he overhears the diminutive academic and the hunky plumber having loud and obviously kinky sex, Josh is overwhelmed with lust…and a longing for a fraction of what they have.
To his amazement, Rai and Evan find his embarrassing tendency to blush utterly charming, and the three men grow closer over the course of the long, hot summer. Despite Rai’s charming flirtation and Evan’s smoldering gaze, Josh is determined never to break his new friends’ loving bonds.
On the night a naked Josh falls—quite literally—into the middle of one of Rai and Evan’s marathon sex sessions, the force of their mutual attraction takes control. But just as Josh dares to hope, he senses a change. Leaving him to wonder if the winds of love are about to blow his way at last…or if history is about to repeat itself.
Warning: Contains one well-endowed stud with a sexy accent, one improbably toppy bottom boy with an unfortunate owl obsession, and one blushing naïf who can’t believe his luck. Also, the occasional indulgence in mathematical spanking and some shameless armpit sex.
What they’re saying:
By the end of an m/m/m romance story I have to be convinced that the relationship is going to work, and have seen some development in the relationship as the book progresses. In this book I got that in spades… I enjoyed the very different personalities of the men… and it was easy for me to see how they are perfect for each other… The sex scenes were very hot, but with a tenderness to them that set them apart from mere erotica. They were also very well written and easy to picture… I can see this being a book I’ll re-read when I’m looking for an m/m/m book with accessible characters and lots of delectable sex scenes.
“Excellent” from Jenre at Well Read and her M/M/M Menage Book of the Year 2012
I found myself invested in where this relationship was going from the beginning… This book is filled to the brim with sex, super hot man loving, Some good spanking action and a lot of innuendo to keep the reader’s mind interested in what’s about to come next… I had a really good time reading The Hot Floor; I smiled throughout the entire book.
5 stars and a True Gem Award from Charnel Chante at Guilty Pleasures Book Reviews
The Hot Floor lives up to the words in the title leaving the reader panting breathlessly and wanting more. The story line itself is sweet yet not sappy, making all the characters believable and likable… Ms. Myles truly has a grasp on writing a ménage story where all the partners are equals and the HEA is truly believable. She had me laughing at the antics, wanting to hug anyone of the men at any given time, and sweating at the sex scenes. A definite winner in this reviewer’s opinion.
5 Delightful Divas from Evelise at Dark Divas Reviews
Josephine Myles’ writing has real energy and a whole heap of originality… I find it rare that a threesome works emotionally but there was some real very Brit, generally inarticulate, blokey affection going on here that developed enjoyably. The sex was soaked in sweat, hot and somehow a touch dirty… Yet this playful shagfest somehow also allowed the characters to change and grow during the book… While sexually robust, not to say explicit, it is also funny and just shows a lot of heart. Rai and Evan’s highly coloured sexuality floods Josh’s life with a particular kind of unexpected pleasure. What good sweaty fun!
Raine at Reviews by Jessewave
I’ve come to expect an interesting experience when reading a book by Ms. Myles. She always chooses very unique occupations for her characters and the relationship which seems unexpected actually works. In the case of Josh, Evan and Rai what these three go through, including jealousy, discussing past relationships and of course the future were really realistic in every way… This story has quite a bit of humor and I admit to laughing out loud several times. Great secondary characters provide a wonderful back drop to round out this quirky but satisfying story.

Followers of my reviews know that sex in stories is usually my least favorite part. This is an exception to the rule. A perfect mix of hot, steamy sex, a slow build of romance and drama, and a terrified narrator, who I associated with perhaps a bit too much. A perfect mix for a steamy romance that is just as delicious as the cover.
5 stars from Alex W. at Between the Covers
I loved that we really get to see the lighter side of their lives, especially with Rai around, who constantly had me cracking up in laughter. It is important for there to be something that the “third” can bring to the relationship and I found that I rather liked the fact that even though Josh had things to bring to the table that made a menage relationship work, the original relationship between Rai and Evan was great and had no need of being “fixed”… I can’t wait to read this again. So far it is my favorite of this author’s books, and it was a real delight to read. I can’t wait to read what she publishes next!
5 stars from Cole Riann at The Armchair Reader
Josh, Evan and Rai… have given me the best Sunday afternoon I had in a long time. This gay threesome is so incredibly delicious and scorching hot that I’m surprised my ereader didn’t black out from all the heat they were producing. I love some good gay ménage story every now and again, especially when it combines the erotic parts with a solid romantic arc. And although The Hot Floor is definitely packing a lot of highly erotic and kinky sex scenes, it certainly is satisfying my romantic heart as well. It’s not easy to convince me of a HEA in a polyamorous relationship, so that’s a job well done here.
4.5 stars from Janna at Rarely Dusty Books
The Hot Floor is one of those really juicy books that is a decent length, has characters who you feel you really get to know, and sex that is more than just the physical act, it has all the emotions and dilemmas that go with it… If you like gay erotica with two or more lovers, a good sprinkle of romance and something that just has that ‘real’ feel to it, then The Hot Floor shouldn’t be missed. Great book.
4.5 stars from Clover at Long and Short Reviews
Josephine Myles has written a lovely and compelling story that explores the complications of a ménage relationship; the jealousy, the fear, the uncertainty of exactly where and how to fit in, the confusion of the absolute certainty that it’s possible to fall in love with two people equally and with absolute abandon and commitment… Of course, this is all presented in Josephine Myles’ most charming and clever way, with all the witty banter and loveable characters that I’ve come to expect from her stories. This story made me want to imagine these men far into the future and hope they were still finding their happily-ever-after together.
5 stars from Lisa at The Novel Approach
The Hot Floor gets so many things right. You have a wonderful, varied cast of characters who are rich and vibrant and unique. The setting is entertaining and the vernacular is distinctly British, something for which this author is well known… Throughout all of this the element that really pushes this to a cut above the rest is the humor. These guys are funny, even when they don’t mean to be. It’s not in your face hilarity, although they are pleasingly funny in a casual way. It is the type of funny that incorporates irony and dry wit and makes it come out the other side as side splitting guffaws. Perhaps an odd word choice but I swear I did that when I was reading. I loved the book, loved the guys, and wanted to the middle in their sandwich myself!
5 stars from AlexJouJou at Manic Readers
The author has a light humorous style which makes reading her books a joy… I loved seeing the epilogue when they truly settled into a trio. On the whole, if you like menage, I think you’ll love this. It’s not just a porn-fest as some seem to turn out to be, but builds up to a realistic relationship which you believe could work in the long-term. Definitely pick it up.
Tam at Tam Reads, Writes and Rambles
Whew, folks this was a hot one! As if the cover isn’t enough to tip you off, let me tell you that this book is full on, down and dirty, sexy… But what I really appreciate is that these scenes are more than just super hotness. We also get a great sense of the dynamic between Rai and Evan, as well as the three of them together… Myles really pulls it off here with three interesting and distinct guys who were totally believable together.
4.5 stars from Jay at Joyfully Jay
I enjoyed this book primarily because of the colorful characters who were all very different from each other but each one with an interesting and fun quirk/interest. Big fan of ménages or not, there is enough of an actual relationship in this book to keep things going. The author is true to her style and uses art as her book’s appeal factor as well as humor to round it all up nicely. Long ramblings aside, this is one of those threesomes that stand out. The characters are intriguing, their actions somewhat unpredictable and the plot itself was well thought through. Even without dramas THE HOT FLOOR is a strong read with an amazing cover.
Valentina Heart at The Romance Reviews
The author did some wonderful things making the sex a part of the foundation of their relationship. The friendship part of the story provided a building block to long lasting but it’s with all the loving that I think Josh was able to get it. Nothing was ever perfect from the get go, and all the troubles that they encountered really provided a realistic feel and made their relationship all the more believable.
4.5 Pants Off from DarienMoya at Pants Off Reviews
The book was humorous and quirky, from Rai’s obsession with 70′s kitsch and his owl fetish and Evan’s love of Kerplunk and B horror movies… The sex was smoking and there was no pronoun abuse… It says something about the strong characterisations that Evan and Rai came off the page so distinctly… I’d love to catch up with Josh, Rai and Evan in a future story -maybe a Christmas short (hint hint) or something because these guys were fun and sexy and a joy to spend time with.
B+ from Kaetrin at Kaetrin’s Musings
There is a lot of sex in this book but I really liked the fact that there was a solid friendship that formed prior to the men ever having sex… When the men get together the sex is off the charts hot and it made my perverted little heart happy to read… I recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a nice easy read that is infused with humor and has smoking hot men doing what they love best, each other.
Maya at Hearts on Fire Reviews
Even though this book was written in first person the author did an excellent job giving us an in depth look at the other characters as well. I’ve got to say this is the first m/m/m book that I’ve read in awhile and it left wanting to read more… I was up until the wee hours reading because I couldn’t put this book down. I highly recommend this book!
5 Fairies from Drea at JBP Reviews
Jo Myles writes with a quick and witty style… From prior novels of hers, I know she isn’t afraid to give her characters accents and dialects without it being overbearing or incomprehensible. Always a good thing! Dialogue is snappy, problems get resolved and clues are left throughout the story to be picked up later… By the time our intrepid trio gets together I was fairly ready for something, anything to happen. At just the right time, it was pretty sweet when it did. The sex is slow, three guys trying to work out the mechanics can be both hot and funny as Jo proves… I enjoyed this lighthearted tale of will-they-won’t-they?
