Okay, I’ll admit it: I’ve totally flaked out this last week, but I’ve finally recovered enough to give you the lowdown on the UK Meet.
It was FABULOUS!
What, you want more? Oh, okay then…

Writing:
After much rewriting of the first three chapters (well, okay, trimming mainly), I now have what looks like a final draft printed out and ready to be read through one final time before sending out. EEEK!
All other writing time has been sacrificed this week, so that I could get on with organising the UK Meet anthologies: British Flash and Tea and Crumpets. We’ve had some fantastic submissions already, but I’m starting to realise how much work organising these projects entails! Still, we’re going to end up with something everyone should be really proud of, I hope. Maybe I’ll even find time to write a couple of stories this week…
BTW, the call for submissions is open to any writers (published or aspiring) who plan to attend the Meet this July. If you’re thinking of coming and are interested in taking part, then please contact me and I’ll forward the details to you. Email josephine_myles at yahoo dot co dot uk.
Real Life:
Nothing out of the ordinary to report, although the brighter weather is making me realise I’ll probably have to think about spring cleaning soon. *Sighs* Can I just move house again instead?
This week:
Today I’m going to read the whole of Barging In for one last time, red pen in hand, and tomorrow I’ll get any last bits tidied up and send the thing off to Samhain. I’m feeling rather nervous already – is this butterflies thing normal? I’ve never had it with short stories, but then I’ve never put quite so many hours of my life into a short…
Watch out for British short story writers over on Brief Encounters for the next couple of weeks – there will be interviews, give-aways and reviews each day, while we toast each other over tea and scones.
Just out of interest, do Americans celebrate April Fool’s Day? Should I feel privileged to be given that day? ;D
Coming later this month on Brief Encounters Reviews: a Fortnight of Fun. Tam and Jenre will be hosting a full 14 days of fun focusing on British m/m authors of short stories (and many who have longer stories as well). There will be book give-aways, some fun posts and of course reviews of stories by the authors we are profiling.
Our schedule will be:

Mon. Mar. 21 – Fabian Black
Tues. Mar. 22 – Anne Brooke
Wed. Mar. 23 – Sue Brown*
Thurs. Mar. 24 – Kate Cotoner

I’ve asterisked the writers who have so far confirmed that they will be attending the UK GLBT Fiction Meet this July, and Jenre should be there too. Find out more on the UK Meet website – it sounds like it’s going to be great fun!
